Hello Church Family,
Some of you may be wondering, "What is
BFCC up to now? First, the Tualatin Community Garden and now,
the Tualatin Community Disc Golf Course." I think it is a great idea!
Warren and I have this vision of using our DGC as an outreach
opportunity. Sure, it is great recreation for the entire family.
Sure, I have grown to love this newly discovered sport. But,
we are hoping to attract people to the BFCC course, befriend
them, share Jesus with them and then invite them to join us.
Did you know that there are about 25 disc golf courses within
a 30-mile radius of BFCC. Did you also know that there are no
courses in Tualatin, Sherwood, Wilsonville, Lake Grove, West
Linn and Lake Oswego. The closest course is in Tigard; there
is another in Beaverton - at a church.
You should also know that we are not using any money from the
BFCC budget to pay for this.
By the way, we are laying out the course in such a way so as
to avoid throwing discs into the garden and lopping off a tomato
from someone's garden. We want to maintain good relationships
with the Tualatin Community Garden team. We disc golfers are
hoping that we can co-exist with the gardeners. We have a common
love for the land!
In the future, Warren and I will be happy to conduct a disc golf
clinic and teach you everything we know about disc golfing. We
don't know much, so the clinic won't take much time!
